Course Schedule

The check-in for the course starts at 9am on the Monday morning. 

Upon registering you will be given your accommodation details, and a weekly timetable.  

At 10 30am  there will be the official opening of the course, in the ‘Fencing Salle’ where the staff will be introduced to you. Following the introductions everyone will meet their ‘weapon tutors’ and to be given an outline of their weekly programme.

The first practical session will be on the Monday morning immediately after these meetings.

At the end of the week (Friday) the course will close with an afternoon ‘Hog-Roast’ followed by a closing ceremony in the ‘Myer Theatre’ at 4.30pm, 

All are welcome to the closing ceremony in the Theatre, which is the pick-up point for everyone departing from the course at 5pm. 

Accomodation

All the fencers, coaches and officials stay in several of the School’s boarding houses. Millfield is a secure campus with excellent facilities and security.

Each house has lounge areas, drinks and snack making facilities, a television and some games tables available for your free times.  There is free WiFi provided with age appropriate access times. 

The houses will be allocated by age (Under 12-13 house, 14-17 house, 18+ house)  All the  houses have ‘Care-staff’ assigned to them who are all DBS cleared and very experienced at looking after athletes and children alike. 

Food

All the meals/food  will be in the Main Dinning Hall with Breakfast lunch and dinner supplied by the Schools excellent catering team, details and times will be in your timetable.

Please ensure that we are aware of any special dietary requirements, which of course can be catered for. 

What to bring

Full fencing kit (including a spare jacket if you have one) 

Full electrics (with more than one working weapon & 2 bodywires)

A refillable drinks bottle

Loads of T-shirts (white and coloured if possible)

Shorts (& other games kit you may want for your free time)

Plenty of socks and underwear

Towels and toiletries (bed linen/duvets are provided)

Some casual and smart clothes

Your OWN micro-tape and plasters (parents will know which products are safe for you to use)

Any tablets or medication that you may need (the care staff will look after these items for you)

Pens paper/note books, and some spending money

Free Time

There will be some free-time during the lunch breaks and early evening, where you will be able to use some of the other superb facilities at the school.

Tennis Courts are often available, if you play please bring your own rackets & balls with you! 

Squash Courts are available at limited times, please bring your own kit if you wish to play.

Putting & Pitching  Around Millfield House,  We have a few putting & pitching irons available.

Volleyball Courts (Grass) I will have some volleyballs available for groups to use.

Swimming Pool  There is limited access to the pool, owing to there being swimming course on at the same time. During any time slots that we are given, it is only available for serious swimmers (It is not a leisure pool it is a full size Olympic competition pool) 

Cost

The cost for this years Summer Camp is £550. 

This includes all accommodation and food, all tuition and instruction either individual or group.
